You need sound, the first car, the sports libre has a helicopter gas turbine in it to keep the turbo at a constant pressure.

The Puma is phenominally quick, 0-60 in 1.8s!!!!!!!! A brilliantly engineered car by all standards, the electrics were done by the same electrician that did my car, the overall build quality is astounding, a good example of what can be done with the right budget.

I hate to be a pessimist, but I just can't see that Puma being that quick. It is obviously enormously quick, but 1.8 to 60 and 6 to 130?? I'll go and do some research to see if I can back that up.........it just seems too fast to be credible. (Bear in mind APT's 700hp+ Evo is 0-100 in around 6 seconds if I recall correctly)

Stuart, an RS200 Evo did 0-60 in 2.8s as standard, this car has that engine, but with a second turbo. It is also carbon bodied, thus reducing the weight. With slicks and trick gearing, i have no doubt that the figure is accurate.

A hugely impressive car Matt, make no mistake; I understand that totally, but I'm still doing some research  Can't find accurate documented evidence that the RS200 Evo recorded any quicker than the 3.07secs 0 to 62 seconds that Stig Blomqvist recorded (that record stood for twelve years according the the Guiness Book of World Records)

Any idea of the Puma's actual power or weight?

Mark Moseley's (max1 on here) GTR does a confirmed 0-125 in 5.6 seconds with 960bhp and 1370kg for reference. I guess that the car could well weigh a tonne or less and have a similar power to weight easily enough?? Not trying to cause a row or provoke trouble Matt; I'm sure you not that bothered :)

Hahaha Stuart, none taken. I agree, there is little to prove the credentials. I seem to recall that Wilol Gollop's 6R4 and Martin Schanche's RS200's were both capable of 0-60 times of circa 2s.

The Puma probably weighs around 600kg, possibly less. The 2.1t engine kicks out somewhere between 700-1000bhp allegedly.

One thing is for sure, it is well engineered and blisteringly quick.

Looking around, there are a few of the rallycross cars in the sub 2s 0-60 times, allegedly. Look for Liam and Pat Doran's Fiesta's and RS200.

In isolation Matt, the sub 2 second achievement is one thing, but it's that combined with the 0-130 quoted time and top speed package. I am quite sure that the Puma you linked to is pretty much at the top of its game by the way. The more I watch the video and read the supporting websites, the more impressive it is.
