Having looked after Raed Raffii with Meezer last season and with Batelco in Round 1 I switched to work with my good friends Abdulaziz Al-Yaeesh and Saeed AlMouri who had secured a last minute drive in Round 2. I was also helping SC06 driver Alqassim Hammidedin.
I had worked with Saeed before in Radicals and again he was racing in the Radical series this weekend as well as the V8s. It was Saeeds first time in the car and after only a handful of laps in the 2 x 20 minutes of free practice he put his car in 2nd on the grid, just 0.10 behind Raed Raffi. Abdulaziz did a great job to qualify 5th as his car had some fairly substantial suspension damage.
Unfortunately Saeed was destines to not even complete a single lap as his bonnet flipped open towards the end of lap 1 and smashed his windscreen. Being unable to replace it for race 2 this was the end of Saeeds V8 race weekend (he did complete in the Radical race, onboard video to follow).
