Great link Scott. I was also impressed with the 112 entry into Riches and the 135 approach speed into it!! With grip, stability and a 1'09 from just 300 odd horsepower I'd agree that these were the pinnacle of saloon car racing; certainly in our era anyway.
It would be interesting to compare the DTM times for Brands (off to do just that, right now)

The circuit layout for the Birmingham superprix is still there even down to big roundabout that they cut in half. Is was an amazing experience and the sounds.....awesome.
Part of our slogan 'Live to Race,Race to Live' came from the 1st race of the 1998 or 99 season at Donnington, can't quite remember. It was used by Team Dynamics on a set of monza alloys. It took me 6 months of talking to them to get them to sell me the slogan.

Keep an eye out for the LMA Eurosaloons, there is a small grid of about 8 super tourers still racing.
And funnily enough most of the Prodrive stock of the Ford Mondeo from 2000 is kept in suffolk. Its still raced today and was featured in EVO with Tom Chilton at the helm a few months back.
I was fortunate enough to spend 2 seasons running this car and rebuilding it.
