Snetterton 25-06-09 (The Tyre Barriers Work!!!!)

Went down to Snetterton yesterday (25-06-09) as I had an invite from Jonathan Howes to have a ride out in his Mini Cooper S Challenge car as he had a potential buyer coming to view it.
He had fitted slicks to the car for the first time and after a few warm up laps he came in a few adjustments to the set up and it was my go as the passenger. :-D Then as we left the pit lane Jonathan said to me this is not how to do it!!!! Words that would shortly come back to haunt him.
A couple of laps to warm things back up and then he started to push it again
Going round Snet in a proper race car with a proper driver Wow the speed out of the corners and the amuont of grip was unbelievable!!! then as we went into Russells Left - Right - Straight - Tyre Wall!!!!
We suspected that something had broken on the car as with full lock we were still going in a straight line!! The Marshals did a great job of getting to us fast and checking us over (I don't think I've ever been asked if I'm ok as many times? :-D ) Once recovered and back in the pit we found that the track rod had snapped and caused us to go off.
We think the extra grip from the slick tyres caused the trackrod failure anyway damage is just cosmetic and will soon be put right
Oh and the potential buyer was watching at the time!!!
I will add the pics shortly
