The bit on the ice brought back a horrible memory. I was walking my two Newfies along a country lane one wintery day. The front dog walked across a large frozen puddle and went down Bambi style, literally, looking frighteningly un-natural.

I was horrified, imagining what damage he may have done to himself and, how the hell do I begin to stand a 15+ stone dog from that position. He sort of shrugged and got himself up with me sliding about, pretending to help him and he fortunately, wlked away, apparently un-phased by the experience.

That thing didn't even go down on the ice.

It was the speed of its reactions and the way it seemed to 'read' the terrain and judge the grip that amazed me. When the guy tried to kick it over :o Just amazing.
