I know its a bit random but was looking at you tube and came across this video and it brought back some childhood memorys and its what made me want a 205gti. The new rally cars just are not insane enough like these cars used to be there seemed to be more passion in the rally teams back then.
So my fav Group B is the 205T16

I'd have said the 6r4 boys would be in the same hen house J. - both cars went on to be developed and used in Rallycross - there was nothing between them on the track or the dirt. Damn good fun to watch thoughBladerider wrote:RS200
Would have ruled the roost by a long shot once fully sorted.

RWD cough pardonBladerider wrote:I like the Metro loads,
But its RWD wouldnt have competed on the dirt though fella - 6R4 was not up to Evo2 spec RS's pace but then group B got cut short so early in its life the decent cars barely had time to turn a wheel.

They were the full monty J. otherwise they'd have been nowhere near the 200s around Lydon Hill - tottally agree the big group B cars were axed too soon to have been developed by the manufacturers - which is why the Rallycross boys got thier hands on them - lucky gits

Has to be the Audi Quattro S1 for me,even though I am a devout Toyota fan
Turn your volume up for this one....no silly music, just the wonderful noise those beasts made!

6R4 for me, still being used on the national rally circuit. The RS200 was by far the better looking car, but the brutish uglyness of the 6R4 made it the one for me, maybe that's why I got an Evo 5
.
The car :- 6R4
The noise :- Audi S1
The looker :- RS200
Best performer :- I think between the Lancia S4 and 205T16 E2.
Longest legacy :- 6R4
Seeing, hearing and feeling these cars at the time in full flight is something I'll never forget, and being hit on the forehead by a stone kicked up by Timo Salonen's 205T16 on the 85(or 86) RAC rally.
