Went to the Performance Car Action Day at Castle Combe today for a Ford XR private track session. This came about after Alan was talking on the XROC Forum about trying to get an XROC session at some event. He's now talking about trying to get one at Ford Fair  .

The organisation of the day was excellant...... at least on the side of the XR's :)
However I very much doubt that I will be doing another track day at Castle Combe. The organisation of the day was rather poor in my opinion. The briefing lasted about 5 minutes with about 30 people all standing in a room. This made it impossible for the majority of people to see the map of the track layout. Then at the end of the so called briefing, out of all the people in the room they only looked at 1 persons driving license. JUST 1 :!: . How many people were out there today without a valid driving license.
After the briefing we took our cars for the noise test, which was a static test with the mic 12" from the exhaust and the car revved at 4500rpm. Which car is more likely to fail this sort of test a Ford V8 or a Honda VTEC :?:
Once you got out on track expecting to find a safety car to follow for a sighting lap.....NO safety car..... you're just sent out on your merry way, to explore the track for yourself. Unlike the other tracks which i have driven overtaking was to be done on the right.

Now that i've got that off my chest here is link to our website for some pics of the day
