Wha!!!!!!!!!! Firenza, Viva, Victor, Cresta, Chevette etc. were utter rust trap shite. I had an FD Victor with overdrive on fourth that could only be used downhill.

I had two Victors, an 1800 and a 2300. they were very relaible and took us all around the UK without breaking down. Sounds to me like whoever sold you the car saw you coming :P

My Firenza had the 2300 engine out of a VX 4/90, a PECO exhaust and twin 40 DCOE Webers. Bilsteins all round and 185/60/13's on Weller rims. The whole car was white with white wheels. It used to go like stink and looked the biz lowered!! I was only 18 at the time and i thought it was the beeez balzzzzz!! :D

What i mean by proper cars is......cars that were purely mechanical, no electronics whatsoever in sight, no ABS, ECU's, YAW sensors or any of that malarky!! They were dead easy to work on and mostly RWD. Loads of fun to drive and taught you a thing or two about car control. MKI and II Escorts, Mini's, etc... Proper cars!! ;)

Sorry to momentarily hijack the thread...i'll shut up now

Those were the days huh, balancing twin carbs, messing with dwell angles and feel like you actually made a difference :D ....Had plenty of old rusty Vauxhall's myself  .... Viva's, Magnum 2.3, Victor's and do you remember the Ventora 3.3 straight six? had one of those as well, thirsty old bugger tho  must say, I was more of a Ford man personally... loved 3.0 Capri's, had my first when I was 20 and went on to own no less than six. :D

Thanks for the pics write up and phnoecalls Stu - GIT !!! :D :D

Gutted Im too busy to fart let alone go to a show. Made even worse when that night Bob and the guys asked me if I was still coming on the Friday as they had a ticket for me - :( :(

Thanks for getting a pic of the Ascari - truly awesome thing, I love it.

Luc-Michel's skyline is a 6.7litre Merc V12 with 4 turbos, a couple of years ago it was running towards 1000bhp and 1000kg's so I expect its done that now, its been banned from every race series he's tried to get it entered into that I know of !!! lol

Shame there werent any Murci or GT pics ;) :D

Interesting Top Gear repeat on TV today too btw !!

J. :D
I have issues !!! :ack2:....I used to be average, now I reminisce !!!

The Ascari is my personal favourite at the moment and would definitley be my lottery winning car! The sequencial gearbox does it for me!
