The way the rotor slots are pointed in the pic and with forward rotation they would be pulling in gases and dust to the centre of the rotor/hub.
Please tell me to effoff if i am talking sh1t. I know it's off topic but it's the first thing i noticed with that pic.

I assume we are talking about the grooves in the discs. From my experience, with the discs this way you get the best clearance of gas film from the pad and therefore better bite, but you sometimes get some noise and your pads wear out quicker due to the better braking of course. This only applies to discs that have omnidirectional cooling systems inside the two layers of course like the dba's.
I am sure an expert will either confirm this or not.
I have supplied and fitted grooved discs that acually give you the choice of which way round to fit them and explain why in the instructions.

I've only ever fitted rotors the other way around so it throws everything towards the outside of the rotors.... and the instructions say so :lol:
If it doesn't make any difference to the braking or makes for better braking then you should definately ignore what i said, leave them as they are and tell me to bugger off.

I'm with you on this one and it seems logical that the grooves should be directed to 'throw out'. I fitted some Black Diamond discs to a car a few years ago and the instructions stated that the 'throw out' orientation was correct.
Hopefully an expert or even someone who's read the instructions will be along to put us right.
It doesnt matter how the grooves go. What matters is the way the Veins go[the vented part of the disc] these should run from the centre and go towards the back of the car. This is so it draws the heat out of the disc.
Theres a very good picture that shows this in the 2007 Demon Tweeks motorsport book. Page 304 on the Alcon brakes part under the heading Disc Brake Diemension Reference.
