Some laps with Stuart - Snetterton 22/09/08
I hope to that the track gets financial support, with out track days where else can we use our cars without the risk of loseing our licence,s.Liveing around my area in essex there are so many tuned cars,im sure if track days were more available at weekends far more drivers would attend them.By the sounds of the improvements to snet it should be a good place to visit as a spectator or competitor.stuart wrote:I have seen photos of the 'old' layout although I have only driven the existing set up. With the circuit being changed again in the near future (2009/2010) it will be interesting to see whether the alterations to the track make it more popular.
I certainly hope that it gets sustained financial support from Dr Palmer. The promised race school, hotel and business park will make a big difference to its public perception and will boost local economy.

New member here.....I'm Paul Sears, Malcolm's Son. Boyzee good to hear you were a good friend of Dad's. He was a very quick prominent Modsports racer with the Tiger back in the day, as you say he did indeed have a life changing accident back in 71 but it was @ Oulton Park not Snetterton. Just thought i'd clear that up. He survived, he spent nine years in Hospital as a result but is alive and well thanks.....he's 73 now.
From memory the Norwich straight was a killer on engines, i remember Dad Tiger throwing a rod through the block chasing the Cobra's
Fond memories. Cheers.
Wow! Thought provoking first post Paul; welcome onboard

Bit of a slow starter but i'll catch up.....
My Dad was quite the man about town back in the day, very quick pedler too.
He was also on set during McQueens "LeMans" filming in 1970, he was responsible for setting up the control gear for the doomed faked up Ferrari's (using Lola T70's) also he's the driver who clout's the barrier at Mulsanne corner in David Piper's green T70Mk3 B during the rain scene.... Very sad though as his accident @ Oulton 1971 in the Tiger ended his racing career.
Thanks for allowing me join in here though

Paul
Your Dad sounds like a proper legend Paul, and you are more than welcome to join in, spectate or whatever you like!

Cheap and bent coilovers, decent brakes, 3 litre engine with 280hp on the dyno, lighter flywheel, Supersprint exhaust and only 1100kgs with a dirty fat cage so very, very light for what it was.
These video's were both filmed before I had the clutch changed so the gearshifts were really hampering fast progress.
A great car that took all of the abuse I could throw at it, delivered hundreds of fun packed passenger rides and made a noise like no other car that I have owned.
