Hmm, my overalls say BS8856-2000 (manufactured 2007) and gloves BS8856 too ... not the BS6658 mentioned above. Are they obsolete? Current lid is a bike one, so won't be fireproof.

Depends what you are planning on doing in 2010 onwards. Trackday, sprint, race etc.
The regs for disciplines are likely to be a bit different and some circuit owners may instate harder regs than others for trackdays. I think your suit gloves will be ok, but you may need to upgrade to a fireproof lid. Crazy because then they should ask for fireproof suit, gloves, boots etc.
