Before you buy Ultralite Wheels I would strongly advise you to read thier warranty terms. I bought a set of 4 diamond cut Ultralite ATEC-II wheels in July last year, and the wheels have been washed and waxed with Swissvax Autobhan Wheel wax once a week. Despite this care, the wheels have numerous areas where the wheel is corroding under the lacquer. There are no chips or other causes of this corrosion, other than the finish applied to the wheels. And are Ultralite interested in keeping thier customers happy? Not in my experience! The words, 'couldn't care less' spring to mind!

So please read Ultralites Warranty Terms before you buy Ultralite wheels, and decide for yourself if you want to give them your hard earned cash.

Warranty

ULTRALITE WHEELS offers a limited structural warranty and a 1 year cosmetic finish warranty to the original consumer purchaser. Proof of purchase is required for any warranty claim. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the wheel at the discretion of ULTRALITE WHEELS, ULTRALITE WHEELS are not responsible for any costs associated with the warranty claim including but not limited to freight costs, labour and repairs associated with the wheel.
This warranty shall not apply to:
1. Defects, malfunction or failure to wheels in transit, off-road use, race use, abuse, misuse, accident or negligence by the consumer.
2. Wheels that have been altered repaired or modified in any way.
3. Wheels that have not been installed in accordance with These instructions or installed on incorrect tire sizes or used with excessive vehicle loads or with incorrect instillation hardware.
4. Wheel corrosion or cosmetic flaws occurring after the purchase due to chemicals, caustic cleaning agents, climate conditions or neglect.
5. The fading or discolouring of gold or silver accented accessories caused by caustic chemicals, climate conditions or neglect.
6. Polished surfaces require extensive care to maintain their factory appearance. We do not warrant the Finish or appearance on polished or diamond cut aluminium products.
THIS WARRANTY IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO THE WHEELS AND ALL OTHER EXPRESSED
WARRANTIES ARE HERBY EXCLUDED. ULTRALITE WHEELS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES.

Consumer
1. Tighten to correct torque for the correct nut or bolt on a regular basis.
2. Check the tire pressure on a monthly basis.
3. Wash wheels WEEKLY with a mild detergent. Do not use harsh chemicals and abrasives when cleaning your wheels.

Sorry to hear the bad news Jem. The trouble is, I suspect that if you closely look at the T's and C's of most wheel companies they would also exclude just about everything also.

The way of the World it seems.......hastened by the litigous nature of this bloody society we live in.

My Twin 5's were the same and I especially like this quote from number 6 on the warranty...."We do not warrant the Finish or appearance on polished or diamond cut aluminium products. " :lol: :lol: :lol:

the truth is now one seemed to guarantee diamond polished finishes - but they merrily sell them !!

Never had any issues with my Rota's. Cleaned on a regular basis with standard car shampoo then dried with a shammy.

Look a treat and no harm done
