Series 1 or 2?
Driven both (more the S2) and always come away thinking that they are one of those things I would love to own if I had the spare cash. They are wonderful things in my opinion but you need to go very careful with treating each one on its own merits as there are no two alike (it seems). Lots have been crashed or scuffed and the GRP bodywork can be very expensive to fix if you go down the official route (not that you need to). In my opinion a 111s S2 is a terrific allrounder as these things go, with the newer Toyota engine giving plenty of BHP and adequate torque to stir these along. I'd be cautious about a S1 as many of them featured the K series engine and whilst many seem to keep going and going, they do seem to be a bit hit and miss.
What's your expected budget and use Darren?

Subject to budget I reckon they are superb cars for those duties Darren. Do you have anyone local to you that can look after it in terms of jobs that are beyond your skills? I only ask as I would not want to be faced with a right ball-ache every time work needed doing and it meant me traipsing halfway across the country!
