Cheap runaround wanted

Post by john B »

Just thought I would ask on here aswell as trawl the small ads of various sites etc...

My youngest Son passed his driving test last friday so were looking for a cheap runaround and something insurable......

Although he is 20 as we all know premiums are a nightmare so ideally nothing bigger that 1.3.

Budget up to

My wife's is a similar age and mileage and it runs great and still does 40mpg average.
Can't recommend it enough.

These Micra's are also really cheap to run and insure, this seems local-ish too.

I really will have to learn to read more carefully... I read that as:

Insurance groups dont seem to be all about the size, mostly, but not all.
Skoda Fabia Seems a good bet, bit more metal and still group 5 insurance.

This is handy:

And Autotrader shows insurance groups.

Just looked up my Clio... Group 31... Didnt even realize they went that high :/
