600 or 750cc Bike

Post by boucherie »

Hi guys and gals,

Having been bitten by the trackday bug late last year on my motorbike im now looking to get a bike which i can prep solely for track use.

I have already got a trailer sorted and im looking for either a 600 or 750cc bike.

Currently im riding a GSXR SRAD so something of this nature would be ideal.

Mileage isnt too much or a worry so long as it has been well serviced. Bodywork must be in good order and if it has any goodies such as braided lines, double bubble screen then all the better but again not important.

Age wise i wouldnt want to go any earlier than the SRAD so thats around 1997, and after about 2002, prices for road bikes are still quite high, especially as i intend to strip it down a bit before it goes on track.

If you have, or know of anyone that is selling a bike which you may think fits the bill then please let me know.

Thanks

Ian

haven't actually advertised mine yet but i have 2x gsxr750's that are going up for sale once the weather starts to break........only for sale due to sorting a new frame and utilising the various parts i have built up over the years to build something fairly trick (but at reasonable cost)

no.1 i have had since summer 2006 - gsxr750Y '00 "W" does have very light fairing side panel damage but is in full road trim (never bumped or knicked) - i swapped a supermoto for this to do my first t/days after the guy had scared himself on the gsxr and had "rattled" it between the garage wall and his car trying to squeeze past pushing the indicator stalks thro the panels!! would be cheap and ideal base

no.2 i bought early last year as it came with another bike in bits (hence the project bike) - gsxr750K2 '02, has been in a hedge by previous owner but straight and un-damaged in track trim, usual Goodridge lines, Yoshi full system, Harris fairing support, Stompgrips, suede seat, etc. and pattern bodywork

forgot to add both have Goodridge lines, Stompgrips and crash bungs a s a matter of course and will happily show a 1000 the way at most tracks whilst being easier to ride (IMO) than a 600..........all 140bhp'ish of lovely tractable fuel injected creaminess

the first one in road trim would be
