Sprint competitors for Class D8 urgently needed

Entrants for class D8, over 2000cc modified sports & production cars. Turbo or n/a

Time for some to show they don't only talk about driving but can actually manage to do some. I'm fed up with no one to talk to and getting 1st place with no competition.

All that's required is an MSA licence, approved race suit, approved helmet and, a car. Some driving ability is usefull but not strictly necessary. If you're a Lewis Hamilton you won't have enough Sundays free anyway. :)

There's 3 or 4 events left this season so you can get a taste for what it's like and whether or not you'll want to do a full season next year. Almost all venues are in the SE and range from coned airfields e.g. North Weald, Bentwaters, to established race circuits, e.g. Goodwood, Brands.

Even if your car isn't over 2L, there's a class to suit everything from a bog standard Nissan Micra to single seaters.

Interested? Good!

Stick your name down here or post in the Sprint section. Or just ask questions, but not for the sake of talking please.

Gerry...a couple of questions

1. How do you go about getting an MSA license and how much does it costs
2. What is the average or rough costs of entry for a round or season
3. I know the events are mainly in the south east what cities are they near or post codes. Needed for working travel times, costs etc.

Cheers for the info. Yes I am still interested in having a go, the info will enable me to roughly work out the costings of each event, but also the travelling costs, we are committed to the TA for 2009 but I am looking for something else instead of just public track days

I can assure you Gerry, you will not be on your own for Cadwell, North Weald or Debden :duel: ;)

I do appreciate where you're coming from though. In the short space of this season attendances seem to have dwindled (not from BP I might add) and the future of events must surely be under scrutiny? We all have to consider costs when organising these sorts of things so smaller numbers means reduced margins.........I do not imagine that any motor club makes money as such.

There are plans afoot for next years sprinting, as far as I'm concerned. I think that come the end of October those interested should meet up and discuss this properly, but this is not the thread for that :thumb:
