Used/part worn track tires 255/40/17 or close

Hello I'm after some road legal track tires i.e r888's or simular. I cant afford a brand new set at the moment but just wondering if any of you have any laying around that still have a little bit of life left in them. Just want to have a go on some to see the difference. Anything considered ir even to be pointed in the direction where i can get 2nd hand track tires.
The thing is do they can they only take a certain ammount of heat cycles before they go off?
