Ok, im nearly finished building my engine but i need some assistance to put it back in as soon as its complete (probably next weekend 24/5 or better still one day next week)
I would need to borrow an engine crane as well as i dont have one....and preferably a knowledgable skyline mind that can rig it all back up again. I can infinitely supply bacon sarnies and other refreshments, but i really need to get it back in the car and running asap as ive only got 2 1/2 weeks till silverstone time attack round
Im located in Shefford, beds just off J10 A1M, about 5 miles.....
Can anyone help me in my hour (or several hours) of need?
Cheers.

Neil..........you crazy sod!! No engine crane, no experience and no back up. Sounds just like me :wack:
I can offer no help, that's an honest answer, but surely there must be a local garage that can actually do the honours? These cars are not the simplest the easiest to work on, that I do know.
What has led to you needing to do this off of your own back?

i ask myself that question daily.......
i havent built the engine myself but it was done kind of....on the sly....but my car is in my garage with no engine, so moving the car isnt really on the agenda either...
Just a bit of a mess!
so...anyone?

I'll come and lend a hand - I need adult supervision though but can do most stuff apart from oil changes

You have got to be fucking kidding me  :pmsl: :wave2: :rotflol:
Neil...............whatever you do, do NOT let Dunk near any tools whether they are powered or otherwise.
If you DO let Dunk near your car, please do two things
1) Record it on camcorder or similar for us all
2) Do not blame BigPower or the forum in any way
Generous offer Dunk. Kind of inviting Hannibal Lector around for a carvery

It shouldn't be that difficult, done BR26 into S14 a couple of times now and its a fairly straight forward process.
Due to the weight/size of the RB engine/box we find it easier to fit them from underneath - i.e. engine/gearbox/etc on the front crossmember with the rack/etc already attached. Get it on a low trolley, lift the front of the car up, slide it underneath and then drop the car onto the crossmember...

thats quite interesting, thanks. Only issue i can see is getting the up high enough to get the engine underneath....dont think my jack and axle stands will quite cut it..

You still need a crane to lift the front of the car that high in the air so either way still makes no odds. Good luck on that one :thumb:
