Renault 19 16v UPDATED Fixed & Lower Price.

Metallic Green 1995 Renault 19 16v executive for sale.
No MOT(expired end of august) or tax but can see no reason why it shouldn't sail through.
Interior is in good condition, with full leather seats and electrics.
Engine is sound, brakes and alloys all seem good and loads of tread on tyres.
Only 65k miles on clock.
Bad points -
Apart from the mot , Needs new clutch so would have to be trailered home unless very local (can be driven a few miles before gear selection becomes impossible). ***Update, Gary has fixed the clutch problem. It was the cable, so now thats fine!!***
Few scabs on paintwork but in good condition for year.
Would make a cheap/fun runaround or an excellent trackday car!

Engine out job to change the clutch on one of those, great fun and good bhp for a 1.8 a late phaze 3 model too

Had a phase two it had three boxes in it in a year first time an unbelievable 14 hours to just get it out, took it out the top and the abs unit makes it near impossible to remove. Second and third time took it out the bottom on the sub frame 4 hours wish i had done that in the first place not a bad job really i believe most problems with the boxes are its lack if spigot bearing!!!
Clutch kits come with a dummy spigot bearing for aligning the clutch up!!!
Great buy loved mine and would definitely have another a bit of a wolf really as everyone thing french crap but for a 1.8 and its revy engine they go pretty well good chassis too

I had a 1994 phase 2 19 16v for quite a few years, it was a fun little car, great for chucking about.
I had one clutch change in that time, I took it to a local transmission specialist, they changed it without taking the engine out - just over

You sure it was a phase 2 not a 1 as the box comes out of those due to it having a differnt sump set up??

i loved my old 19, good handling and reasonably quick, would have another one day for a track day thrash about, but aint got the room at the minute.

IWANT1, definitely a phase 2, had the problem that the sump sort of extended out under the gearbox. I don't know 100% how they did it as I didn't watch them do it, AFAIK they didn't take the gearbox out of the car. What he said to me (don't know how much of this is true!) is that they popped one driveshaft out, gearbox mount and linkages, and shuffled the gearbox over to one side in the car sufficiently to get the clutch out. God knows how they got the new one in and aligned!!! Since I destroyed the clutch release bearing on the way in, and the clutch was fubar'd anyway, I'm sure they did replace it!

That would explain it :lol: probably cut the inner wing out and re welded it in

Probably just enough room if your lucky with the plate lining up!
