If I had a lot of cash I would buy the whole car.

Now back to the point...

The heart of this car is the same as my engine - coped with 550 bhp and 600 lb/ft for me - the spec is identical. Mine did 15000 miles and the bores were as good as new - I am sure Gerry's will be the same.

Thanks for that little endorsement Dunk.

ATM I'm waiting to hear back on the short engine. This engine is basically a phase 1.5 for MY97/98 and it will drop straight in and go. It may be OK for earlier cars by swapping head wiring loom. Later cars will have issues with the wiring for among other bits, the idle control valve. It can be done, I believe, but it's extra work involved. I'm happy to split the short motor as the STi3 heads are considered among the best with their cam profile.

Any Qs, please ask.

Rear seats will require fettling to fit around the cage, which I did with my Impreza. please see pics below of cage fitment in mine with the back seats in.

Hope this helps. Oh and just so your aware, the rear seats won't be usable with this cage.

Thanks Logan, I really didn't know the answer to this.

Does the Cusco cage accomodate the seats better?

No worries :D

Depends on whcih design of Cusco, they have a "street" range that floows the roofline down the C-Pillar which allows the back seats to be used, but their Safety 21 range I think its called is of a simialr design to the Safety Devices cage except they use single bolted clamps therefore making it non-FIA/MSA approvable.

Something of a turn up!

The guy whom I've bought my replacement toy from has bought the Scoob :o

We both seem happy with the deal which all seemed to easy really. A little stressful at times but as they say, 'no gain without pain' :?

Details will be posted elsewhere once the handover has been completed.

As for anyone who has paid a deposit for any parts, I've refunded all deposits but in some cases, I think dear old Paypal has nicked a slice. If this is the case, please let me know by PM and I'll make sure no-one is out of pocket regardless of how small an amount.

:)

Thanks Trev, I never even considered trying to sell the car complete and it was pure chance I mentioned the Scoob to the other guy.

Go on then, you're welcome to guess.

In fact, I'll start a guess the new toy thread

And there was me trying to work out if I could afford any of the bits... :o

Glad you have managed to sell it in 1 lump Gerry, a much easier transaction for you and you don't then have to hope that you sell everything quickly so it's not all hanging around for ages.

Look forward to seeing the new toy
