91 EE8 CRX for sale, needs TLC

Post by maff »

A mate is selling his motor, thought some on here might be interested:
The day has finally come where I can no longer afford to maintain my CRX Sad

The car has been used as a daily driver for the past 5years (not what i had planned..), and has seen some rust repair along the way however the car needs some love to get it back to it's former glory.

Now I'm really bad at writing for sale ads.. so here is the brutal, and honest truth for things that need to be done..

Engine has around 210k miles, the speedo reading is slightly under this as the old gearbox chewed drive cables.

Good bits:
Starts first time!
282mm front brakes from a MG ZS, 262mm rear
Height/rebound adjustment coilovers (Meister-R Zeta-R i think, on the car for 12 months)
Full energy suspension polybush set (on for 12 months)
HID headlamps (4300k, bulbs 2 months old)
Alternator recently replaced with second hand unit
Gearbox replaced around 2yrs ago with a second hand unit, which came out of one Daz81's old race cars, slight syncro wear on shifting to 3rd/4th
Years and years of patchy history paperwork with periods of owners doing DIY repairs.
Private plate, which is included in the sale.
Front/upper suspension brace, have an unused rear/lower one that will come with the car too.

Not so good bits:
No tax/MOT
Oz Ultralegerras in 15", one has a small flat spot, all need some cosmetic attention.
Oil leak around the VTEC solenoid
Water leaks from sunroof/rear hatch to rear suspension mounts
Windscreen was refitted 2yrs ago and was misfitted, letting water in around the screen
Aircon removed (Old kit included, cannot say anything about functionality!)
Leather seats split on the bolsters
Stereo fascia contacts unreliable great, so screen flickers, probably just need cleaning up, but it works
Driver’s side window regulator is bent, replacement included.

Really bad bits:
MOT failure due to – sill rust, rear arch rust, 1 rear tyre rubbed down to ply, hand brake effectiveness and brake balance (passenger side caliper)

Price for the sake of the rules: £1500, however this is negotiable.

Please let me know if I have missed any really important/obvious points!
