30-130 day at Marham

Post by duncan »

Copied from elsewhere....
Hi Guys Mechell from the MLR here (don't shoot)

Just wondered if you knew about an event that has been arranged for you guys??? (lots don't seem to know about it which is confusing) - anyhoo It is on the 8th March 2009 at Marham...

bit of info

The "30-130 and Top Speed" event was created to stop all the pub talk surrounding tuning and to understand 'real world' performance, and which modifications / packages really work, and RAF Marham is the perfect environment with 2800 yards of immaculate tarmac!

How does it work?
Using VBox technology each car enters the start box below 30mph and then accelerates hard so it exits at over 30mph and continues to 130mph as quickly as possible. There are no more rules - just do whatever you think is the fastest way of accelerating to 130mph - and on to a max speed if you want - it's all about being as quick as possible!

The GPS data logging records everything your car does - you can have as many runs as you can fit in and try anything you like, such as in gear times, 0-60, top speed, brake tests, etc and review all the data later, but for the purposes of this event we'll pull off the valid 30-130 times and top speed and display them on the results leaderboard throughout the day.

We've measured a few different cars over the years to put things into perspective - although we haven't measured a Scoob yet!

Simon Norris - Evo9SWB - 6.19
Porsche 911 Turbo (X50) - 13.44
Porsche 911 GT3 - 15.73
Ferrari 360 - 16.14
Skyline GTR32 - 20.01
Monaro - 33.91
Honda Accord Type R - 40.64

Here's the result from previous MLR 30-130 events;

2007: http://www.lancerregister.com/showthrea ... ght=30-130

2006: http://www.lancerregister.com/showthrea ... ght=30-130

I thought it was being run through SIDC but can't seem to find much info about it - and without you it can't happen

MLR info is here if you need it * * * 30-130 is back! * * * - Mitsubishi Lancer Register Forum this could be the last time we can get onto Marham as they are suffering noise issues like everyone else...

Not wishing to step on any toes here or elsewhere - just I can't find any info that you guys should know!! Please excuse me if it is already about and I'm just not seeing it..

Hope to see some of you there
I really fancy this. It is the day after the MLR day.

Hi guys i can confirm a few details regarding this date.
The MLR have been asked to run a date the day after the MLR one for Scoobs
The response from the Scoobs side has been a little slow and the Sunday Event has been opened up to other Clubs
With this in mind and having spoken to MLR HQ i can offer this Event to Big Power Members
You need all the usual security details for Marham and all bookings have to be completed in full with MLR HQ
I will answer any Q's i can so get on the blower and book

How much is the 'Scooby' Day?

Gerry 95 all in

It has been brought to may attention that you need to make sure your car can do 130MPH
And get to 130MPH and down to slow inside 1.5miles no responsibility taken by the organisers if your vehicle fails to make the required speed :-D

This is a great no launching required chance to get times which you can compare!

Tom you are right only cars competing can enter the site,if you have a friend competing you can join them in their car. You still have to submit your details for security tho!

With reference to Military ID as you have we still ask you register so the organiser knows who is on site
