Jay I cant speak for Stu but I went to JAE this year and would probably say that I have no intention of being there again next year unless it involves some track action. It was a good social event but not really my cup of tea with all bling no substance in a lot of the cases.

Thats not to say that this viewpoint might not change though :D

I kind of agree with duncan, i went to the last one and thought the show aspect was not my cup of tea. However, the social aspect soon made up for that, and based on the laughs i had-im booking my hoidays around it :D
See you there :)

Yes, you can :)

Jay, I've never been to JAE so I wouldn't know whether this is suitable for 'us' as a club or not. By all means, put forwards any ideas that you have and we can all have an open chat about it :thumb:

I agree with the sentiments about track etc however i just see it as a great oppotunity to get the club well on the scene !!!
And get us all together to have a laff..
As any of you business people know, advertising is key and if we can show all that we have some great things going on then it can only be good for the club as a whole .
Along the lines of the spirit of the club a little sacrifice to the cause goes a long way.
Not that i am saying only a few do the work But i have seen a lot on the gtr board where the minority do all the work for the majority and get little or no recognition for it.
I am looking more along the lines of it being something i can put back into the club,
If i set up a stand or man it for a day,
Do some canvassing or organise some fun events then thats my way of putting back into the club
Murano.. you will know what i mean as you have seen the gtroc first hand and know the hassle involved with trying to get anything done to help the site or the powers that be.
I have very little ability to arrange track days or meets so this would be my way of showing some support and thanks to the club.

OOps thats turned into a rant
I only meant to say i would not mind helping pmsl

Sounds great Jay

Please PM me your thoughts if you prefer, or feel free to spill your guts on here  It may be worth talking to 323Ian as well as he was gagging to get involved with the show side of things IIRC after one of the Santa Pod do's............ this idea may have some legs :)

I really think this is something big power should do as a club.

Ok it may not have any track action going on but im sure the hundred or so other events the club has booked for next year will make up for that!

How about getting the club all parked up with the tents and chilling with a few beers in the summer sun!? Got to be a good way of people getting to know one another and a good way to spend a weekend?

Lets have some feedback on here?

Personally I think this is a tough one to comment on. I was @ JAE this year and was personally disappointed.
I expected it to be along the lines of Ford Fair, but it was nowhere near it. I thought the general quality of the cars there was very poor. 99% of them were in my opinion a load of old nails.
The lack of track action was very disappointing too.

As said above the only reason I can see for going is the publicity.....

However, i know this sounds rude but do we want to be associated with that sort of scene?

EDIT- I do however agree with Ians above comment
