What a morning!!
Dan and I met at 9.30am at Tesco's on Watton and soon made our way, across country to Drerham :) The weather was foul. Absolute Autumn and no sign of getting any better, so brave faces were donned, tyres were kicked and we were nearly ready to go.

PedGSR had already been nicked by the Police so we were under no illusions about taking it steady, and that was entirely correct for the conditions. The staggered start so that we didn't end up following each other, was perfect. It meant that we all had to do our own thing, some following sat nav, some listening to partners and some winging it. What a giggle!

We covered a fair few miles in appalling weather, drove quickly and safely and everyone had a laugh for next to no money. Great.

I would like to thank Russ. Not only for the idea and concept, but also getting the maps sorted, routes planned and people motivated. Cheers Buddy.

Big thanks to PedGSR, MissPedGSR and the Navigator (Father in law) Russ, Mrs Russ and little Russ, Harry and Jean, Dan and Gareth, especially Nik too.

Look forward to some of these for next year. Do you allow Campers ;)

Thanks guys for all the possitive feedback!
I would risk trying to organise something simular next year when the weathers better, Maybe try heading a little west of todays run? I recon if we could get 20 or so participants it would be a real wacky (non)racers style hoot! The great thing is it does n`t matter what you are driving (even campers;)) so long as milage can be taken all are welcome. Also i think as i proved today that not all satnavs are the same (especially 3yr old factory fit ones:rolleyes:) maybe a good old fashioned map would been better, But that was already in another car (ahem:))

Dan, Glad you enjoyed your bacon - i enjoyed my venison burger too. That farmers market at sandringham was a real bonus.

Oh yes and if we do another i think it should be done from the members section as im not sure we did n`t have a greeting party this morning? I bet it was a right pisser that no one was miss-behaving

as said before, thanks to russ, it was a really enjoyable day and was good to meet a few more of you aswell.

im still annoyed at mr 'i know nothing about cars' policeman. so now i have to go and get my 'excessive' movement checked out on my pipe.

im very respectful of the police normally but i do wonder whether they have anything better to do.

anyway rant over :)

cheers to all!

I am really SORRY that i didn't make this event, i hate saying that i will do something and then not following through on my word. SORRY, but things were out of my hands. :banghead:

Glad to hear that it went well though.

Re the welcoming party....Personally I feel that we shouldn't hide these events.

1. They incourage non members to come along to meet members in a relaxed atmosphere.

2. We have nothing to hide, our cars are road legal and it just backs up the clubs ideal of enjoying our cars in the right manner.

Imagine what they would have thought if we had made it in our car:rofl:

I agree with Pablo on the last comment, your cars are legitimate so you've nothing to fear. Carrying documents for gatherings can be a good idea too.
Some clubs make the mistake of doing McDonald style meets, a simple cruise around with mildly behaved stops can't upset anyone.
As long as things stay sensible, and people don't take the mickey, they might not like it, but there's not much they can do.

a fair point. and i do agree partly. although the 'theres not much they can do' is tosh, or i wouldnt have a vehicle rectification notice for no reason. my car is fully road legal, infact the mot was done less than 1 month ago. so if there was an issue im sure the mot tester would have advised me of it :)
