Ah well I'll get it running right a see how it goes on the track in December.
Thats the spirit Tom We where disappointed with the 2K but we checked it over did the service work and it made a small gain but is still below book. The main thing is it runs great and enjoy it.
The track will be great nice power and a light car have fun

I intend to Liam.
I'm going to Cadwell with my mate. Hopfully in his mirage Cyborge which is very simular to mine. That has 175bhp on the book and lsd but mine is faster in a straight drag lol.
Alternatly he could take his Justy which is running 220bhp in 700kg shell...mad to say the least lol!

It is strange though chap, you have a number of mods that are proven Jap companies (not ebay copies) and there isnt an increase. What about resetting the ecu ? Seem to remember a feature in Jap Perf where they modded a Civic VTI but it needed the ecu reset and then a fair amount of driving for it to settle down and accept the changes.

Wouldnt an aftermarket ecu like the Hondata be a good buy if you are going the full hog.

Failing that decide what you want to do with the car. You'll never make huge gains on a Honda without doing a lot to the engine itself or supercharging/turbo charging.

But yeah can only agree with the comments above that people get so hung up about the actual numbers from the dyno readings, if it runs well then dont worry about it.

Well my only saving grace is the fact that the other civic, that should have had 10hp up on me to start with only got about 4hp more than me.
But yeah it does still go well so I'm not really to worried and I am planning on a hondata soon.
I'm actually quite pleased i got the results as now I can bash other people down who are throwing around figures when mine is faster haha!

I think the point to remember is that any particular car's stated figures are a) from the manufacturer, not from us on a dyno we are re-testing on and (more importantly) b) from when the car was new.

Is it suprising for a 10 year old, 60k mile plus car not to be putting out the power it was when new?

Take mine for instance - on Jap fuel, brand new it was 185bhp. 10 years, 63k miles later and on UK fuel it did 181bhp. In my opinion that's great, and I reckon the mods (not likely to add much anyway on a NA 1.6 that's highly tuned from the factory) just made up for the power that's naturally ebbed over the years.

Don't worry about it - if it drives well and the engine's running healthy just enjoy it, or get a turbocharged car if you want bigger power figures easily :)

Cheers,
Alex

"Its not what you own its what you do with it" springs to mind!
There are some pathetic owners on here running silly horsepower on cars that have never seen the road let alone get used on a daily basis. Good on the lads for actualy doing so :-D :-D
