I would have to say a big no to a BP meet at Trax. I was there this year and it is definatley moving towards big sound systems, lairy body kits and bling. I was going to suggest a meet based around the RS national day if it was still at donnington. No not because it's a Ford event but because it was a track event. Last year there was a track day on the saturday, over night camping and national day (track action) on the sunday.
This is the type of event in my opinion that we should be aiming at. People would be free to attend one or both days but either way BigPower would be seen to be doing what we do, for the whole weekend.
This type of event would:
a) Gain members who walk the walk
b) Provide a social event around what we're all here for

Just had a thought on top of the many others
Jap again but not exclusively Japfest has track time and is fairly large show when it is at castle combe!!
This is a very demanding track and would be good for "both" parts of the event
Social and otherwise
One to add to the list i spose

Would Japfest 2 not be better as its not over the other side of the country!?
Its at Donnington and still has all the track time.
Added bonus of being the national skyline meet as well! :)

Ok so here are the contenders so far for the "meet of the year"
As we probably wont be attending many of the other events we need to get this right i think....

Japfest 2 Donnington
Japfest 1 Castle combe
UFC
Trax
RS National Day
Goodwood
JAE
TOTB

I feel a bit like I am rail roading a show type meet when to be honest i am not even sure the powers to be and other members are really to fussed.
Keep the comments coming though.

If social meets weren't important Jay we wouldn't stand around Snetterton once a month. Every user on this board has a say, just some speak a little louder than others :)

Just to echo what blackskygtr has said, JAE is a social event - it doesn't realy need track action. I've been there for many years with the SXOC and NTOC before then, it's just a chance for clubs to get together and have a drink and a laugh.

How about we go to JAE if Stu can sway the organisers to allow us all in.

I kinda feel that if they dont let us all in, ( regardless of what we drive) then we should say no thanks...

Im pretty sure that i see some non- japanese cars there this year anyway :?

I've been to JAE in 2005 and 2006 and it's a fun weekend of just socialising and oogling at various cars (and scantily clad women).

On the stand I was on we managed to get a new MINI Cooper S on display  We called it our 'support car'

I'll be going this year (unless something happens) and hope to have some video to display of the car on track :D No idea how I'm gonna play it but want to show people what I use the car for ;)

Whether BP should atend...tricky, however if the organisers allow for all the members to attend then it should be considered.

It'll be nice to get loads of trackday video together and make like a 30min demo of what the club is about so whether it be at JAE or wherever we have something to display visually on a static stand.
