Was thinking more like removing doors, tailgate and bonnet russ lol.russ979 wrote:How about a five-a-side football match "Top gear stylie"?..............No?
Ok! I`m up for another autotest. Its got to be worth it, just to see if Eddie removes the rest of the glass out of the metro to gain another second or two?:D
I am probably going to give the Stagea an airing at the next meet and give the poor little Metro a rest.

Does anyone know anything about portable rolling roads?
How about one of them for the attendees to play with?
Goes in hand with the no bull shit, put your money where your mouth is ethos of the club.
They get publicity, we (I must make one of these sooner of later) get a dyno run, and everyone would have fun watching......
Please don't flame me, I really don't want to piss on anyone's chips as I know we've professional tuners/dyno'ers on here, just thought it would be worth putting out there as a suggestion.(They might even be able to do it)

Good idea Bert but not on my shift. Cost, effort and present trader prohibitive. Dynos are cool for tuning but shit to watch
Interesting ideas bubbling away and I think it will be active enough for you all

How much room is there in a straight line?
Are there any rules as to two cars running at once?
And no, I'm not thinking 1/4 mile.
I was thinking 20-70 runs, or similar, shows real world flexibility without placing too much stress on bits.
I guess with two cars that'd need the track and hence be a no-no, but you get the idea.

2 cars side by side requires a different type of insurance (more cost) but I like the idea of a means of creating less stress on the cars. The difficulty with this from a practical point of view is that this would mean a different means of timing as you'd need equipment in each car and the time taken to take the kit out of one car and refit it would severely impact on the number of runs that we can get in failing day light. Maybe a great idea for an airfield event on another day.Rob S wrote:How much room is there in a straight line?

Does that make sense
If this originally discussed 1/4 mile event goes ahead it will happen on the back straight anyway. Some of the guys will be doing 140+ by the time they break the 1/4 so they'll need a few moments to slow down too
