My family and i had a great day at snett today, The wether was typicaly cold, but to hear an F1 car at full chat round our local track was a soul warming experience.
And the Lotus sunbeam was stunning! We were late getting there and hit the worst of the ques to get in. We started queing on the A11 3/4 of a mile from the snett junction, and barely moved ten feet in ten mins. I then phoned maff who was only just inside but it had taken them 45mins! So with my missus and sons bladders about to burst we gave up and phoned Tk instead to warn him and Stu of the building ques ( the best move ive made in ages) Because Stu`s advice was to pop over his place, and follow him and tk through the back roads. So bladders empty and a cup of tea later ( and a good butchers overs the golfs grumbly bits, yes i can see the attraction of their simplicity!) We set off for a quick run through the back roads to snett with us bringing up the rear in a diesel scenic ( funnily enough the only one of the trio with a turbo, chip and a bigpower sticker
) But we got straight in with no ques, parked up and it was as we were crossing the bridge that i was overcome with a rare smuggness as we saw a couple of the lotus`es that we had been following in the que on the A11 come past us only just getting in! So massive thanks Stu, you are a total star mate!:cheers2: We later caught up with bigbimmer and sasman who looked so cosy up on coram with their tent and chairs ( i half expected to see a coffee pot on the go!) We wondered through the paddocks with so much to see. I must say that the folks on the Lotus factory stand were great with one of the lotus ladies asking if my lad would like to go and sit in one of the race cars, which i dont think he will forget and i see as being realy good Pr on their behalf. It was good to finaly meet Maff`s family ( and nice parking spot chap:)) I think all the staff at snetterton must have worked their socks off today? When we spoke to the guy in tyrells ( what is his name? i know i`m not the only one to refer to him as barry chuckel:)) who is normaly quite up beat, but looked nackered and said he`d had just two coffee`s since 6.30 this morning. To sum up a great day was had, But we need to hear more F1 cars round snetterton.
