Nippon Challenge 22/08/09

Post by paul4400 »

Had a good day out at snetterton today and met some nice friendly people.
Thanks to Tim(evo6) and Dommy for the tickets and their hospitality for me and the mrs :smthumbup :) also to Simon norris and Andy harvey for taking time out to have a chat.

Top 3 were the same for both races
1st Simon norris (evo3) fastest lap 1:13.536
2nd Andy harvey (subaru impreza) fastest lap 1:17.519
3rd Tim clarke (evo6) fastest lap 1:18.329
Then next nearest was a Honda civic 1800 at 1:21.309, simon was in amongst back markers by the 4th lap, that thing certainly flies  but would have been nice to have seen some more cars turn up in his league to give him a race :)

Surprised i didnt see any of the lads from the local mlr or the big power club as it was a local event ? Maybe your all saving up for the time attack....

Paul and Sal :)

Damn I didn't know it was on. Went to the first round at Snett for the Nippon to cheer on Max (orange RX7).

How did he finish ?

Hi Paul :)

I was working mate, otherwise I'd have been there (with bells on)

I saw some of the guys in practice on Friday. Mr Tim had just turned up as I was leaving. That is some lap time from Mr Norris. 1'13" in what must be his second choice car is hugely impressive and bodes very well for him in Time Attack later in the year.

Did you get any photos?

Maxim (RX7) did a 1:20.351 in the first race, then shortly afterwards about lap 6 the engine went.

Hi stuart
Was a good day out.
Simon was seriously quick but shockingly still had another 150bhp on tap as was only running about 1.4 bar boost and 650bhp,,, app the car is capable of about 800, oh and hes a bad boy as well and got told off for drifting on some of the corners lol.
Didnt get many pics but there will be some fotage about as simon had cameras front and back as did tim.
If his other car (simon n) is done before the time attack there was talk of bringing that over so should be interesting to see.

Damn, same as last time. Haven't seen him post anything on fduk so will ask him. Was really hot though.

Some impressive times though, damn I wish I'd seen it was on :(
