No bogs, massive queues for everything too but the biggest gathering of fast cars I can remember seeing.

I'll attend this again when we're taking our own team but that's the only time :D

Vectraman wrote:I'm attending this (wedding reception the night before not withstanding :drunk: ). Eddy, i will be leaving from Norwich, what time are you thinking of setting out? I believe the action starts around 10?

I went to this 2 years ago and there were only a few traders there and not many promo girls :( so wouldn't call it that commercial really as the competition for the events is serious. As already said the pits were open to all and the array of machinery to look at was deffo worth the 440 mile round trip.

My moans would be the lack of decent scoff on offer and the fact that there was one measly temporary grandstand (full from 9 in the morning til the racing finished) at the start of the strip so all spectating had to be done from ground level. Also the PA announcements were hard to hear as i remember.

cheers
I will leave as early as it takes to get there ready for the action. Must need to allow 3 hrs to get there so leave at say 6.30?
Car sharing or convoy?

Dan (Madenglishman), Trev and Joe went up there the other year (2006?) and loved every minute of it. Top draw cars and loads of them. As long as you don;t want a poo in a hurry you should be fine :thumb:

I will watch what i eat a couple of days before then lol.

 My parents hace a chemical loo that i could borrow. I just need tinted window for some privacy.

Been told it is a good idea to take a chair too.

think i better make a list

Chair
Chemical loo or strong box
Roll of paper (not cheap shiny stuff)
Bottled drinks (bottles may come in handy)
Food (disposable bbq if allowed)
Hat, sunglasses, coolbox and factor 20 just in case
Waterproof coat & Umbrella (very important)
Other stuff

Fast Eddy's comment's about a disposable BBQ have just reminded of TOTB06. It was late in the afternoon and the car park was emptying. Mad Monk was asleep in the back of his Makkinen and Lloyd lit a BBQ right at the edge of the car park where the grass starts.

Next thing all the grass has gone up and instead of stamping on it he was calling dad daddad! Reminded of that sketch Dick Emery used to do with the father and son skinheads (apologies for all the youngsters on here who haven't heard of Dick Emery!). Anyway Wayne wakes up and starts stamping out the fire.

Me and the missus stood there pi$$ing ourslves. We would have helped but we were eating our BBQ'd scoff at the time.. you know how it is.. if only i'd had a camcorder...

Been to all but the first TOTB events and will be there again this year. We travel up on the Saturday morning and camp over on a nice little site about 5 miles away, its become more of a get together for our family and friends, the event itself is just a bonus :thumb:
