I'll be having one of those drag monster thingummyjigs purleeease !!!
Went to Pod today in the Orange - without dying from CO poisoning I hasten to add - and ripped it up the strip a few times.
I was pleased with how consistant the car was, and it ran all day fault free. I even tried lowering the tyre pressures which resulted in my best two times.
Times were....
13.5
13.6
13.7
13.8
13.9
14.1
14.1
14.2
all at 104 or 105 mph !!!
Not bad for a little sideways machine with thinish tyres and not alot of power !!!
Im dead chuffed - and I even made SteveN from Redline feel ill when I took him out drifting !!!

Glad you had a nice time and managed to extract some consistency out of the orange......what was the event J?

It was a Redline feature...
Taking Drift cars Dragging !!
Should be in Februarys issue I think.
And it is low power - I dont really class anything less than 400bhp as high power as theres so much more to come !!

I remember seeing to two 350z's of Sumo and SVA at Santa Pod last year, I think Sumo won both runs with mid 13 runs. Made a lovely noise and they certainly were going for it (trademark smoke everywhere) Any other notable times or details Jay?

Ermmmmm
Matt got a 13.2 in his more powerful S14 with wider rubber than me. there was a black S14 with traction control that also got about a 13.3, the rest were slower. I think one of the Soarers got a 13.5 and the GTS-t's and other cars were all 14's and 15's. I think the volvo got 24secs@64mph and beat his target !!!
Oh and Martin Hadland was there with his new Escort, did a fair few passes trying different setups, launches and stuff but didnt do aything like a full blooded run - best I saw was mid 12's though, coasting half the track !!!

and I think he may have got in the 11's doing similar when I was running myself.
Mr Norris also came in his freshly remapped - with 930bhp now

- evo and got a 9.7 at 158mph I think, with lots of wheelspin and sideways and off the gas moments in the run !!!!
Good laugh though - right up to the point on the way home where my tyre came off the rim and I needed the nice man in the van to rescue me !!!
J.
PS - wheres my bloody medal - give Dunc a kick !!!

Now I know I usually get the blame for your car breakages, but you can't blame me for this one :P
So where are the pics then, or do we have to wait for the mag to come out?
Dorris's EVO sounds like a bit of a handfull

Oh yes,
Its a mighty green weapon full of verve and boinginess !!!
I didnt take any pics - there are a couple on driftworks,
http://www.driftworks.co.uk/forum/showt ... hp?t=26753
but none really any good - pretty pleased I managed to get that much smoke on a fairly damp surface, but it was rather fast considering the confined space so i guess it was inevitable !!
