Gah... bought a PS Vita during the week, came fully charged, played a bit, worked a treat with the PS4 as a second pad and with remote play, but the damn thing wouldnt charge.
So after checking all the usual stuff, I emailed tec support.
An automated reply telling me they were busy and would get back to me.

What further details do you require?
Cheers

Gee thanks, didnt think to read the fucking manual first did i? Dickheads.Hi ,
Thanks for your e-mail. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a problem with your PlayStation Vita (PS Vita).
I can see from your e-mail that you're experiencing difficulties with your PS Vita and from what I understand, you may find the information here helpful.
I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions please contact PlayStation Support using the contact details below quoting ref: 140620-000852

Here we go again:
All I want to know is should I send it back to Argos or is there something else I can do, talk about make it difficult, i can only imagine their phone support is every bit as shit... we will see.Ref: 140620-000852
No, unsurprisingly I read the support FAQs before emailing you. A fact the would be clear if someone had read the content of my email rather than just sending a vague "Read the manual" reply.
So once again:
It came fully charged, but I cannot charge it further.
I have updated it to the latest firmware.
With the Unit turned on, and the cable plugged into the mains there is no lightning bolt symbol.
With the Unit turned off, and the cable plugged into the mains the PS button goes orange for about 1 minute, then flashes blue once and goes off.
With the Unit turned off, and the cable plugged into the a USB port on my PC the PS button goes orange for about 1 minute, then flashes blue once and goes off.
Further, I ran the unit totally flat to see if that would help. On charging the orange light flashes as it should do, however it only gets a minimal charge, once it gets to the point where the orange light should stay on constantly, again the blue light flashes once and it ceases charging.
I can use the cable to transfer files so it appears to be in working order.
I used the mains cable to charge from flat to minimally charged (i.e. the point at which the orange light stops flashing). So that also appears to be in working order.
Please, restore some of my faith in Sony's tec support, actually make some form of reference to the steps I have been through in your reply.
Thanks
