its our new sponsor mate
streetracers motorsport centre based in leicester

power to start with is going to be around the 350bhp and then over next winter little more work done to the engine to get around the 450BHP ready for a full season of time attack:sifone:

Sounds good! :D Although I'm surprised you're sticking with a Grp A coil and not going over to an Motorsport Developments wasted-spark setup, or would that be a conflict with Streetracers? What Management are you going with, mate?

We'll be using an Emerald ecu.

A wasted spark set up is not something that I have looked into or something that Gordon has mentioned. Different tuners favour different methods. Now that the question has been raised I will mention it to Gordon.

We have known Gordon since we first built our car over 3 years ago and know his work well. We have complete trust in his work..............but i'll still ask the question.

I have done a bit of surfing and can now explain part of why our spec doesn't include a wasted spark setup. If this was a road car then it would be of advantage for the smoothness of running and the hassle free setup. As the main focus of the car is track use and as such things like plugs will be changed frequently a wasted spark setup is not essential.

Thats as far as my knowledge goes:)

Please correct me if i'm wrong.

hassle free is what you want mate,so with wasted spark you dont have moving parts like rotor arm ,cap to break or crack,

that combined with a better spark, nearly all new stuff is wasted spark or coil on plug

these guys built many cosworth motors before??

100's as far as I know Gary

I'm sure Gordon or one of team TNT will elaborate further :)

The spec looks like a big step forwards from the 2008 or 2009 spec guys. I bet Bart is ever so slightly excited about the prospects of that as a regular drive?

That's cool, I wasn't criticising your choice as there are many Cossie's out there still running the Grp A Coil and dizzy, but like Gary says, I'd have thought coil-packs would be simpler and more reliable. The MSD coil driver add-ons are for the original Cossie brain, so I think it would be slightly more involved working it into another management ECU, though I'm sure it's not difficult.
