Can any one recomend a part of the lake district for a 3 or 4 day short break in the 2nd or 3rd week of october ,where you can take a dog aswell (maybe a self catering cottage) i not sure were the best part to go is , not to worried about price just looking for a nice short break , i have had a look but as i havnt been before i not sure what i'm looking at

Not sure on an actual cottage, however my Father has a Static home in Grassington, fantastic place and great place to walk the dog.

Cumbria is very nice but can be rather bleak when it's cold & wet.
