ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!!

Post by V8_EATR »

I had received an e-mail from Bank of America this past weekend saying that my debit card had been locked for irregular activity. I had thought, damn beer prices must have gone up too  On a serious note, I called them up and the representative had told me they had locked my card because of 5 large transactions from a Wal-Mart in Alabama! :o I had them immidiately cancel the card. I found out today that I was the 16th case in just 4 days!!! The dent was 4 transactions of $200 (100GBP) and 1 in the amount of $100.09 (50.04GBP), with a grand total of $900.09 :x All of my latest transactions have been on RAF Lakenheath, gas station and both shopettes.

I guess I'm saying that please watch where you use your debit/check cards and make sure there are no suspicious people watching nearby!

If this happens to you, cancel your card and notify the police immediately!!

My old man has now had both credit cards done. Whoever it is does a quick check to see if the card details works by putting through 1p at Carphone Warehouse iirc. Then they tried to buy a TV, but thankfully the CC company noted the 1p transaction as dodgy and blocked all other payments. The second card had not been used for months so they've been holding onto it for a while.

I've had three transactions declined, in the last couple of days.

I called B/card customer services (what a misnomer  ) and was asked to recall transactions from June. When I couldn't give precise details I was told to go into a local 'Barclaycard Bank' "What's one of those I asked?" Turns out she meant Barclays.

What a PITA :x

girl at work had 7k spent on her card on a kitchen (card clone).. when she told the credit company they could see who did it as they had given a delivery address, credit company said not interested - tell the police - and promptly cleared out her live account to cover the first repayment !!! .. nice.
