Advice required - been in a small accident

Right, so pissed off with myself :x :x

After playing football last night and on my way back to my weekday accomodation, stopped to get fuel, then went back to the car, bloke in front of me was still in teh shop so decided to reverse and sneak through the other lane in the station. It was tanking it down with rain and I edged back and didn't see a parked car sat 90 degrees to me and went into it, and it couldn't of just been a cheap or ordinary car, no,it was a 03 reg BMW 5 series. Damage appears to be the drivers door dented in and real slight dink in the front wing. Details were exchanged etc.

Bloke is going to take the car to the BMW garage for a quote on the weekend. Now I'm sure rather than them getting a dent specialist in they will just say to replace the panels and paint it, which will then cost a great deal of cash. We left it that he will contact me with the quote and then we can decide whether to go through the insurance or not.

Anyone been in this situation? Problem I can see, is the bloke won't want hassle, and a few different quotes etc. So either I pay what he sasys or go through the insurance

No idea.

I was just kinda hoping the bill isn't too bad so it wouldn't go through my insurance as I have just taken out this second policy for the Evo and will get bent over I'm sure if I claim, as I got such a decent deal as I had good no claims on the Impreza.

Arrrgghhh....what a bloody p1sser.

2 weeks till my holiday.....can't wait :!:

Only saving grace is the Evo seems okay, just a slight mark on the bumper that should polish out. Sturdy cars these Jap boxes :!:

Car Parks are roads now, so long as they are open to the public on payment or otherwise..

They put a stop to car parks etc. being private property to stop the underaged and uninsured learners 'having a go'

Gutted for you Logan. It seems to be one thing after another.

Odd that he should be parked broadside across the back of you, unless he was in a parking bay? If he were straight on, it would have been a touch on the bumper with minimal damage.

Yup, not great at all.

One of those things, lots of little factors caused it. Bloke parked up at the rear of the station and was in the shop, not getting any petrol, thats why he was parked at 90 degrees to me.

Just gonna have th grin and bear it. See what the cost id first before i deceide whether to just dig deep and pay out, or go through the insurance. Any which way I look at it its probably going to cost a fair chunk of my rebuild cost
