A good point of discussion this.

I was hoping that this or something like it may get brought up as it is a topic that hasn't been discussed on the public side of the forum before.

My only concern with something like that is that the club was set up to try and get the emphasis 'off' of the street and 'on' to the tracks.

There has been talk amongst the management of the site about accommodation on the forum for street cars, but how do we distinguish between guys that have a powerful, well tuned and prepared car but are disinclined to use it on circuits and the usual pub/keyboard warrior who claims to have X,Y and Z but never backs it up, never attends events to participate and effectively undermines the ethos of the club from the inside out?

To explore your question Mark, how did you see it working and to whom did you see the 'street sleeper' style applying to?

I think the question may have potential and I'd welcome feedback on it. I am not against it per se but I would want a well considered, thought out discussion meriting the good and bad of any such scenario........

I'll split this topic and put it into the members area. Thanks Mark :thumb:

FWIW My gut reaction is NO!

I don't understand the ethos behind modifying a car, to whatever degree and not using it on a track of some description. Other than bragging numbers and posing, what's the purpose?

There's a number of 'street sleepers' on here, when they're on the public roads but, at other times, they get used how they should and where it's safe and legal to do so.

By all means have that kind of street sleeper section but I think throwing it open to the 'Barrys' is asking for trouble.

2p :D

My exact sentiments Gerry :!: I just don't get it, spending thousands apon thousands on a car that has millions of horsepower etc etc then only to polish it once in a while and drive to the shops.....mental! Takes all sorts tho :!:

But back on point, I think its dodgy ground which would contradict exactly what this club/website is all about, where do you draw the line???

Equally and in addition to all above sentiments, what kind of people do you want on BigPower.

To be honest i came here because you don't get the MaxPower brigade or Chav United anywhere near here, and i thought this was a forum for non street racer types. Street Sleeper says Street Racer to me.

I know i haven't been a member 5 mins but in all honesty i quite like BP as is :D
Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

Waiting now for another execution date!!:headhack:

I love the fact that virtually everybody on here walks the walk. IMHO I think it is the site's reson d'etre and it's all the better for it. I can respect the love, commitment and money that these people put in to their cars but to then leave them sitting pretty seems a terrible waste. If we were to encourage this class of person on to the site I think they would receive a constant badgering by the rest of us to convert them to our intrepid ways. So, I suppose in that sense, it could be a good thing, 'curing' this strange behaviour but another part of me wants nothing to do with it. :?

This could also work both ways as we may be encouraged to fit big bodykits and 200 15inch subs hitting 130db with the stereo and Neons and.............................................

What a load of S**T like that would ever happen!!!! :-D :-D
