Track car advice Needed !

Post by M J P »

I have been thinking for some time about getting a dedicated track car when I stumbled across this:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/190562.htm

The seller is asking 3k but I'm not sure what it could be worth. :?

Any advice or help would be gratefully appreciated. :)

Nice bit of spec  LAD are very well respected with the ax/saxo owners I run a LAD engine in my AX.

Don't quote me on it but i believe that people have issues with the Mi16 if its not installed vertically in the 205's you need to buy a conversion for the engine mounts do do the job correct or you get excessive piston wear and other problems. That engine looks angled to me maybe just the pics i maybe wrong something worth looking into

The spec looks impressive. To start from scratch and kit a car out like this would cost alot more. To get a car dedicated for trackdays makes alot of sense, you arn't always worried about pushing it that little bit harder, and it doesn't really cost that much to fix compared to a scooby/skyline.

Have you explored at any other cars? For around

I was unaware of the issue with the mounting angle for the engine and will find out if it is mounted at the correct angle for avoiding the problems. :thumb:

Hi Matt,
The 205 sounds like a great car. I am not an expert regarding the angle of the engine though, but it looks fairly flat to me. Check it out though as Lee says.
PS your cans and compressor will be with me early next week so we can arrange delivery/colection ok mate
