Info required from NU employees

Post by rolty »

Afternoon all - this is a bit of a strange request, so allow me to explain.

I'm currently in my final year of my BSc Ergonomics course at Loughborough and am starting to have a look round for graduate jobs as I'll be finishing uni in June. My personal area of interest within the field is transport ergonomics which covers a variety of areas such as design of vehicle interiors and layouts. One other area that is related to this is analysis of decision making, ie why a decision was made and the consequences of a decision.

Bear with me...I'm getting there...

What I'd like to know is how Norwich Union goes about investigating accidents and the ensuing claims and how blame is allocated to the people involved in the accident. Is this carried out by NU themselves or another outfit? What sort of work do they do and how do they work with the police (if at all)?

If you can point me in some sort of direction that would be great, no problems if you can't help

Thanks,

George

The answer is all in house - we have many area's and teams involved. I'll see if I can find out who would be best placed to provide it - there must be a comms team that can provide whatever it is you need.

That's great Ben, I did have a look on the website, but it's such a specific thing it wasn't listed as I expected :)

Yeah I agree with Ben, its all done by in-house staff who basically go and visit the cars and then upload the data to the claims handlers.

Sorry, I didn't exactly make what I was on about all that clear!

What I'm basically looking for is potential employment. Bit of a long shot I know, but I'm just testing the water while I'm still at uni to see if I can get anywhere :)

George, NU have an excellent Graduate scheme, Gareth might be able to help with the info on that - basically it's a position with an amazing income and crosses all areas.

With regards specializing in the your preferred area of the business, I will need to find out if I know anyone is claims - then work backwards to the assessors etc. May take me a few days - but as my job is basically that - finding out who does what and why for whoever I should be able to get what you want.

That's great news Ben.

I did see the graduate schemes for some of the other jobs, and you're right - they do look very good indeed :)

Thanks for your time :)
