We'll see. The other driver thought I was going a bit quick and so too did the witness (I think). No police involved though, so no official report to back anything up.

Progress at last. Other guy and his insurance company admit liability, no dispute. So, my company is sending an engineer to assess damage (my quotes already indicate it's a write off) and will then pursue money from the 3rd party.

Unusual that your company is even interested in your claim, being third party?

Just had a call from the assessors. The car is deemed beyond economic repair with a value of
