
Winter project - GPS laptimer
Ooops - new version now allows you to pick baud rate :oops:

Ok noddy instructions:
Extra zip to c:\vroad
Save your keyfile into c:\vroad as gps.dll (you may have to rename it) (pm me if you want one).
Double click vroad.exe
If it says "Cannot open scene" try swapping to 16/24 or 32 bit colour depth in your windows desktop settings.
To set up:
Click "Menu"
Click "Configure"
Click "Comm Port"
Select the comm port your GPS device is attached to (1 is default).
Click "Menu"
Click "Configure"
Click "Baud Rate"
Select the baud rate your GPS device is transmits at (4800 is default)
To Record some data:
Click "Menu"
Click "Record"
Once it has a lock it will start drawing blobs on the screen.
Help:
Click "Menu"
Click "About"
This will show a list of the keyboard controls
To zoom about:
Left Click & hold - drag map about
Right Click & hold - Rotate map
Both mouse buttons & hold - Zoom in and out
Reviewing saved data:
All data is saved to the c:\vroad folder in the format YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.NMEA.
Click "Menu"
Click "Load"
Click "The file you want to load"
You can overlay many files by loading them one after another.
To Clear the screen:
Click "Menu"
Click "Clear"
To Calculate lap times.
Record some or load the saved data (see above)
Set a finish line:
Click "Menu"
Click "Set Finish"
A Yellow bar will appear, use the left mouse to drag it and right mouse to rotate it until it represents a start finish line (Set 90 degrees to the track)
Click "Finish Finish"
A Lap chart will appear on the right. Colour coded to the little data blobs on the screen.
To Calculate a 0-60 time:
Record some or load the saved data (see above)
Click "Menu"
Click "0 - 60 Times"
A list will appear including the time at which the run was performed
NB This data is not yet interpolated so may be spot on, but may be up to .999 of a second out, ill fix it soon, honest guv.
Click "ok" to finish.
To Overlay map:
Before hand save an image of the circuit as overlay.jpg into your c:\vroad folder.
Click "Menu"
Click "Overlay"
Use "WSAD" keys to move the map about, use "IJKL" keys to scale the map
Should get you started.
Latest version is 0.0.12 if yours is older than that then download again from above location
