BTW what's the difference between driving lights & fog lights?

Thats the question we asked when we were stopped many years ago in a Corrado and fined for having driving lights on which the PC insisted were fog lights. We asked him the difference between the two and he could not answer but still wrote out a ticket :jerk:

Best lights I've ever had on a car was the Escort RS. The front driving lights came on with the main beam and lit up the road like WWII search lights. Nothing since compares, not even the HIDs.

I believe the difference is, fog lights give a spread of light for a short distance, whereas driving lights are more of a long spotlight to illuminate thedistance.

So, Mad Monk, that's the reason for asking the question, what's the objection to using fog lights in exceptional, adverse conditions?
