- what are you getting then Steve? - I presume that you have a twin scroll, as far as I know there isnt a twin scroll that will fit your performance targets

Nope not one just yet so might have to be a GT30....

I have heard a lot about the GT30 and also the MD321T as of late - both sound like good options for getting over the 400 mark

yep both are on the short list for me... just trying to persuade the better half its worth doing as her classic then inherits all the redundant twin scroll...

Do you have any concerns about turbo lag and lost low down performance?
Just had to have a new turbo fitted, decided to stick with a VF28, as i find it comes in nice low down the range and with the 6 speed gearbox, the gearing is low anyway and the revs already fly to the red line.
was worried with a bigger turbo, that i'd end up with a very short burst, that may be good for rolling road figures, but not good for the track/road.

I am still gathering information and waiting for others to make this leap on their 06 sti's before I do. It is an expensive decision and can totally alter the driveability of the car as you say.
My current turbo is the VF43 which I believe is similar to the VF39 and brings power in pretty low down for me and starts running out of puff at about 6500
This suits my driving to be honest at the moment as I dont like bouncing the car off the limiter... with the 2.5 torque and the 6 speed box with this years ratios there is no need to IMO.
The 321T or the TD06 and GT30 do have a certain appeal though but they are well down on the shopping list for me and may or may not even make it to the top.

GT30 is now available with a twin scroll housing (.78 A/R) would still require some kind of custom manifold...
