Can bigger wheels screw up ABS?

Since fitting my bigger wheels - well bigger rolling diameter my ABS cuts in quite often - on the old wheels never - could it be - my old tyres were worn and the new ones are extra grippy or is it a common experience?.

More likely to be tyres I would have thought. The ABS sensor (I believe) is on the back of the hub so the bigger rotational mass won't be an issue.

My ABS hasn't worked since the day I've had it so not really the ideal candidate to talk to. May be an idea to PM one of our tuners :)

Theoretically at least the old tyres should have invoked the ABS more often, as they did not have as much mechanical grip to the road surface - again totally theoretical but the larger rolling diameter would mean that the rotation at the hub would be less for a given speed, therefore bringing in the ABS, as it thinks that the wheel is about to lockup.

Possibly complete horse droppings - but hey :-D

P.S. I am in Stu school of motoring, my ABS has not worked since I have had it either (is it even fitted to mine - another stupid question?)

I only noticed mine in the past when I stamped on the pedal - however after last nights drive I've come to the conclusion that it's been happening due to the roads bring wet, cold and slippery !! :)

Often regarded as the reason :)

Mine always do it on the road the day after a track day. I figured out it was an excess fo adrenaline in the system that needed bleeding out  and I should just slow down a bit :)

If you switch to different size wheels front and back then it can cause a difference in the wheel speeds which can upset the ABS.

You're right Ben, but murano3 has fitted matching size wheels all around as you have to on a GTR. In this case, more likely to be the driver not taking account of the weather conditions
