Not one to put a spanner in the works but....
Is it true that you can only detect a laser camera if it has been activated. So you would only benefit if the car in front of you was detected and your detection would be the splatter from the poor guy in front.....
But if you was the only guy on the road you would be in a spot of bother...
Laser jamming would be better

however i think they pick up from that as well, and using such equipment may also be committing an offence, and speeding at the same time

Good point.
As far as I know, the laser detectors do only work once they detect that your car is being 'aimed' at. Having said that, I know lots of people that have found the basic laser detectors to work satisfactorily. The way GPS systems work seems to be far better. My only concern with these sorts of products is the reliance on their technology looking out for you :?
What model have you got and do you rate it?

It's a fair question and thanks Duncan for extracting it from me For Sale thread.
Honest answer is you don't stand a chance with mobile units with Road Angels and the like as the optional laser strap on's will only work if a laser is directed at it by which time Scamera van has a pic of you.
You could get a jammer but they're illegal.

Bascially you get what you pay for
Loads of info here.

You cant beat the gps ones I use the Morpheous Geodesy have done since it was first released. No speed details just basic lights to say a camera is within 1 mile then its up to you if you want to speed through it at above the speed limit. The reason i have stuck with this is its waterproof and fits on the bike as well. Just pop the unit into a cradel.
as for the blockers - search this link for them and you will see they seem to be a waste of money.
