When jacking up an R32, where is the best place to put the jack.
I know that it's a bad idea to put it on the original jacking points - hence why all 32's have crushed sills.

Copied and pasted from gtr
"As a rule of thumb, you can normally jack any car up where a suspension component is attached to the body. But be careful and use common sense - if it doesn't look strong enough then you don't want to try it! As for the crushed chassis rail - it's not a huge problem but IS worth sorting out. You can get a replacement rail section from Nissan for around

Thanks mate - ramps aren't much good for changing wheels

.
Do you have the diagram it mentions?.

Ramps are very good when they have a central support bar that lifts the car up
I'll try and find the diagram. It was missing from the thread.

First off;
DO NOT USE A TROLLEY JACK
use the standard jack you get with the car on the little notches on the underside (they should have more meat on them compared to the rest of the chassis rail) of the chassis where the sideskirts are if you are just changing the wheels Ben.

I might be changing the wheels Ian ... I was actually wanting to jack it up to clean the inner arches on the front and rear ...
I've just dug out the manual - it says you need special lifting pads !! ..
Doh ... I'll have to make them - they are a rubberised block with a central grove cut into them !! ...
