Of those with GTR's - who does your MOT ... Since my last MOT I've had the complete system replaced - I will refit the Cat if need be - but as my Car is pre cat - then do I need to bother.

So really - anyone know an MOT station that is sympathetic to imported Jap cars?.

Unless your GTR is post 95 you do not need a CAT in place. There are no figures for pre 95 cars IIRC. However I always use Leigh @ Wayland Garage in Watton, 20 minutes from Norwich. PM him (he's Sccobyandscrappy on here) and see if he can fit you in. I would stress that isn't a mates rates agreement. You can expect a proper MOT test and to pay a proper MOT price, but I use him, Dan uses him etc etc.....

Funnily enough,

The old Blue Bomber, the Orange, the Evo and my MOT testers' escort 1.6 all have the same CO and emmissions readings !!!

Are you 100% sure its post 95 cars that only need a cat?
I was told by the previous owner of my GTR that i must put the cat in place for my MOT and mine is a 94?
So for pre 95 cars is there no limit on emissions (within reason)?

Best to ask Leigh as he is does MOT testing. I'm pretty sure I'm correct though.

I think it's only pre-95 cars that benefit from the emissions. Post 95 cars like yours will be subject to the regualr levels. I genuinely didn't mean to imply that I was getting preferential treatment mate.

No i was only messing mate.

I found a technicality, because mine was an import they didnt have the specific model on their computer, only the uk 33 which is newer. So theoretically because it isnt a precise match they should do non cat tests on the earlier imports with a 3.5% CO and 1200HC limit. But oh my, it isnt that easy.

If you have a friendly garage keep them sweet and stay with them.
