Is it possible to fit a supercharger to a Turbo`d car? So you have no lag?

Sure....

What turbo's do you currently run ?

If you suffer with lag then there are things that can be done in the map to spool turbos faster.

The turbo spool is a direct result of exhaust temp in the turbo. If you alter the fuel or timing you can create egt whihc will spool the turbo. other ways are anti lag/ 2 step which is when you cut the ignition. Like when some car launch eg rocket ronnie. or N20 which will spool the turbo real nice.
both these are drag race applications but the street way would be in the map.

I hope this helps

Run a standard turbo at the moment but that mustang got me thinking why can`t you strap on a supercharger so you get instant response and then let the turbo kick in higher in the rev range.

I think you are confusing throttle response with lag... I doubt you get much lag. The super charger will only build with revs. do you run a stock ecu ?

running standard ecu as well, not started on the performance mods, it was just a general question really out of curiosity and weather it would work or not.

Yes it can be done - it is already being produced on a mass production model, although the power is a little down on what you'd be expecting

If you are thinking of adding a supercharger have you thought of ditching the turbo and fitting the supercharger instead - instant power with no lag, you can change the pulley size to get the results you want. I changed for a smaller pulley than the one they supplied which took it from 9psi up to 14psi instant improvement :-D

Is that power constant throughout the range or does it tail off with higher speeds?

This is an issue I hear a lot about "saving weight" can't say I have ever given it much thought, if I need to go faster I up the power adder. I think that a good supercharger will put to bed any worries about the weight once you have felt the response and power from the unit.

Please remember though we are talking about my american car which isn't light anyway, the car weighs in about 1950kgs with me in it. I weigh 155kgs - I listen to people talking about working on their cars all weekend after buying different lightweight parts, stripping bits off and throwing them away all to save 3kgs!!!

I can sit on the pan every morning and lose more than that in 15 minutes, don't see the problem
