I appreciate that this is a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question but would anybody know roughly what power gains or improvements could be expected from porting and gas flowing a 205 1.9 GTI engine over a standard 205 1.9 GTI engine (which is approx 130 bhp as standard I believe)?

They used to give good power from memory of 80/90's tuning circles.

It seems that every 205 GTI that I enquire about, where the seller is claiming that the engine has uprated cams fitted
and has been ported and polished etc. has no proof of the work and was 'claimed when I bought it'

Going by that write up I suspect it is pretty unlikely that power figures on par with a GTI-6 conversion are achievable with a stock 1.9 GTI engine.
