Last year pedGSR started a thread on Brake Pads seeking opinion on a variety of common track/fast road.

As it`s time to start thinking about getting the Subaru ready for 2014 and new pads are needed I wondered if anyone had feedback on what they used last year

Well I personally loved my EBC Yellow stuff on track, however the MR wasn't turbocharged so it only had moderate braking force to contend with. But I've also heard rave reviews for Carbotech XP8s. :)

Harry I use yellow stuff in my impreza and they really work well for me ive only got standard subaru four pot fronts and 2 pot rears.

They are good value and for your self you are very smooth with your driving style and not a animal breaker like a lot of us.

Thanks Daniel, Mike, I do use the Yellow Stuff pads find them great for touring round the track and they hold up well when Russell drives the nuts off the car.

I was just keen to see what else is out there and what you speedsters use

Happy braking

We use Ferodo DS2500. They work well on and off the track but do suffer from heavy track work. We took ours out last year as I wanted to check how they were wearing. Loads of meat left if fact they hardly looked worn but were cracked and crumbling.
We are now fitting brake ducting to help with cooling and plan to change them again mid season.

Myself and Gary now use Mintex race pads. Fancy remember the exact compound but they are very very good. Having tried most of the others I have to say these sre my preceded for bite and feel!

I'll try and remember and ask Gary. The other upside is they aren't that expensive!
